Multicomponent 2D/3D seismic surveys. Shallow water, transition zone "land-sea" and the adjacent land

    The bottom seismic survey is currently the main research technique used for seismic survey in shallow waters, land/sea transition areas, and inland waters. Autonomous bottom nodes are a new and very effective means of seismic recording successfully used for such works.

 

    Autonomous bottom nodes have the following advantages over conventional ocean bottom cable recording systems:

  • High operating speed;

  • Option to use any data acquisition systems, unlimited number of channels, unlimited length of reception lines, unlimited record length;

  • Multicomponent data recording (X, Y, Z, H) without increasing the work cost;

  • Best data quality (in comparison with streamers) in areas with uneven bottom relief, in the wave-surf area, in areas with current, in areas with submerged obstacles;

  • Option to pull reception lines ashore, and perform seamless survey in sea/land transition zones.

     

    Our company conducts the following types of seismic surveys in shallow waters and in coastal zones:

  • 2D/3D-1C/2C/4C CDP reflection bottom seismic.

     

    To perform these operations, the Turtle-500 seismic system based on autonomous ocean bottom nodes is used.
